Creativity can make many linen sizes fit a myriad of tables and décor situations. Sometimes you just want to know what standard size cloth, fits the commonly used tables.
The number of guests that fit varies by how much elbow room you want and the width of the chairs.
Chairs with arms and wide seat chairs should go by the lower seating number.
The only way you can be sure, is to place the intended use chairs around a table and see how tight they are.
Here’s our test on how close chairs can comfortably be placed – set the chairs around a table so the seats are right at the edge of the table.
There needs to be at least 2 inches between the front seat corners of side-by-side chairs. Many hotels have the chair corners almost touching – we think that is too tight.
